I am a student and need to use an image from clker for my course work. Can I use it?This is a two part question. First you need to use the website itself. If you are younger than 18 years old then either your course teacher or your parent need to read and agree to the entire terms of use. If you are older than 18 years old then you can do that by yourself. If you (or your teacher/parent) agree to the terms of use then you can use clker.com to find images. There are no fees or charges to use clker.com. Please read question 5 as well.
Which parts of your website are exactly public domain? The images itself on the website are released by its owners to public domain by a statement made on the upload page, or during saving a drawing. The website itself is copyright protected and using it is governed by the terms of use.
I am writing a book, story, article, website or any other application. Can I use clker.com for my application? To use clker.com you need to read and agree to its terms of use. You cannot use the website otherwise. If you agree to the terms of use then you can use clker.com to obtain and use the images provided on it.
Your terms of use does not specifically list my application. Can I still use clker.com?The terms of use lists different applications in which we do not want clker.com to be used to obtain or develop images. If your application is not listed as a prohibited use and is legal in the United States of America and Maryland, then you can use clker.com.
What about using the images on clker.com for my application? The images hosted on clker.com were declared to be in public domain by its uploaders, the sources we collected it from or the people who drew them online. The terms of use lists in capitals a complete disclaimer on that as people might be wrong, or there might be a mistake with one of the images. We have no other information regarding their legal status. If you decide to use an image and you later get in trouble, you are responsible for all your damages as described in the terms of use.
How can I download an image?Click on the image you want, then click on one of the little icons under the large image. The little icons say PNG HI, PNG LOW, SVG ...etc. After the image appears, click File -> Save As.
I am researching an image to use it in a project, and it is drawn by a user called OCAL. Who is that? The images under the OCAL user were downloaded from the openclipart.org library. You can continue your research or communicate with its author over there.
Can I hire clker or your company for an art project that I have?Sorry, we don't do that.
I tried to use one of the images on clker.com on mugs/shirts/pens through XYZ company or website. They rejected my product although other people used other images, or the same image before.... and I saw it?Sorry, we are not related to any of those companies. That's entirely between you and them.
This website is not organized, and gets on my nerves... what are you doing about that?We always try to improve Clker.com and our users' experience. We have a long list of features and fixes with different priorities, and we are always adding new and improving on what we have. Please let us know if you want a specific improvement and we will include it in our plans.
I saw an image on clker.com, which is humliating or deragotory to certain group. How do I report it?Clker.com hosts many historical images that were obtained from the library of congress. We have deleted a lot of images that have historical nature, but display and illustrate torture or seasoning (breaking) of slaves as we do not believe they are suitable for clker's audience. If you find any image similar in nature or which you believe is not suitable for clker's audience please report its link to support at clker dot com and the reasons why you believe so and we will research it.
Why do you host very old images? Those images can be used with our tools to be a starting point of a clipart.
Can I use an image AS my logo? The images on clker are in public domain. Any one can use them. That will not stop others, who may be in the same business as you from using them as their logo as well. They might even use it in a manner that you don't like. Our recomendation is to build upon the images a new logo that you can claim as yours and protect.
