He wears a Louis d'Or medal and a large, plumed hat. A battle scene is depicted on the fabric that hangs from the table, possibly the battle of Blenheim. The sun shines through a window behind him, as well as on a man swimming on a river in the background. There is a large chest on the floor in the lower right. MEDIUM: 1 print : etching.
